Coroners Service
Screen4 work closely with Intelligent Fingerprinting to provide a non-invasive Drug Screening System that provides a fast and convenient way for coroners to screen for recent drug use as soon as a body arrives at the mortuary.
The new approach could save coroners’ time and resources by providing early intelligence on cause of death, helping to prioritise when a full post mortem is needed and potentially enabling earlier release of the deceased back to their families.
Toxicology tests to provide evidence of recent drug use supply important information which enables coroners and their staff to investigate cause of death. Conventional toxicology tests usually require collection of invasive body fluid samples from the deceased and laboratory analysis that can be time consuming and costly.
Intelligent Fingerprinting’s non-invasive Drug Screening System provides a fast and convenient way for coroners to screen for recent drug use that can be carried out immediately on arrival of the deceased at the mortuary.
Our Operations teams based in the UK / Hong Kong / Singapore / Bangkok / UAE / Bahrain can provide local testing services and support for your program. Screen4 is an independent organisation and we can manage the whole service provision or program for you.
Police
Providing an independent Service Provision, we can integrate with current procedures to provide a seamless support to current clinical requirements. We can reduce costs and allow reallocation of critical resources to where they are needed.
Screen4 can develop reliable and robust Clinical Procedures and support services that can manage all the aspects associated with the following:
- Drug Driving – sample collection and transportation
- Training and development of Drug drive programs within the Traffic Police function
- Custodial management and assessment of donors
- Clinical assessment and initial screening of remand prisoners
Offender Management
Drug testing is essential to support a wide range of offender management activities, from mandatory drug screening to the assessment of offenders on arrival for addiction support and prescribing services, as well as voluntary testing that underpins schemes for drug-free wings.
The UK Government’s Prison Safety and Reform White Paper (November 2016) includes recommendations to address drug misuse within prisons, with a particular focus on supporting governors to enable drug testing on entry and exit while also increasing the frequency of drug testing.
New drug screening methods – such as Intelligent Fingerprinting’s revolutionary drug screening system – could be beneficial in supporting the Government’s proposed reforms, particularly if they reduce the amount of time prison staff must spend in sample preparation and collection.
We are working with many Prison and Probation services across the world in developing these services.
